Phi Phi Island, Krabi - The Perfect Thailand Holiday
Koh Phi Phi (Phi Phi Island) is located in Krabi province just east of Phuket. The island is known as one of the softest white sandy palm fringed beaches and stuning limestone that rise from the Andaman Sea. About 50 kilometers southeast of Phuket, the islands are regarded as being the most attractive in the world.
Koh Phi Phi National Park is almost entirely dominated by the two Islands collectively known as ‘Koh Phi Phi’ - Koh Phi Phi Don and Koh Phi Phi Ley. The islands feature beaches and clear water that have been protected by National Park status. Once only a destination of day trippers, the islands are now some of the most popular destinations in Thailand. During the high season of December to March they can become very crowded. Because of its clear waters, the area has become a destination of choice for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts to experience the areas great corals and marine life, sharks included.

Ao Ton Sai is where most accommodation/activity can be found with a wide selection of bars and restaurants. Probably the most developed part of the island. Hat Yao has the island’s best beach and best coral. Hat Ranti beach and Ao Lo Bakao bay are also worthy areas, the latter offering a number of upscale resorts. Electricity and water supplies on the island don’t properly meet demand – on certain days you might not have a regular supply of either! Tonsai is the island’s main. A multitude of travel agencies, internet cafes, restaurants and shops. You can book various tours ,hiking and diving trips. There are more than 20 ‘dive shops’ on Koh Phi Phi Don and they can arrange some of the best diving in the world. Popular destinations are the smaller uninhabited islands around Koh Phi Phi such as Koh Ha, Koh Yung and Koh Mai Phai. For about 2,000 Baht you can arrange a boat trip with two dives. Other activities include rock climbing, canoeing and fishing. Rock climbing courses are available for around 5,000 Baht for a three day course. Canoes are widely available. A single canoe costing around 800 Baht a day. For 2,000 Baht you can arrange boats to take you fisingfor the day, tackle included.

Monkey Beach in Yongkasem Bay - Phi Phi DonMonkey Beach located in Yongkasem bay a short kayak trip from Loh Dalam Beach on Phi Phi Don Island. One of the many attractions is Monkey beach where wild monkeys can be seen and fed with fruits. Yongkasem bay is a popular place for snorkeling. Good snorkeling 40-50 meters off the beach.

The bird’s nests are high in the islands caves and due to their popularity (especially in Chinese cuisine) they command good prices and offer locals a reasonable income Getting the nests requires shimmying up bamboo poles and frames great heights.

Although not as attractive as key areas on the island’s big brother, Ao Maya (Maya Bay) and Lo Sama are its most attractive destinations, especially for snorkeling. These days Ao Maya is of course a major draw. Here is where the movie 'The Beach' was filmed. There are no accommodations on Koh Phi Phi Ley and you cannot stay overnight.

The Krabi Coast Accessible from Ao Nang in a few minutes by longtail boat, West Railay is stunningly pretty, reasonable priced, white sand and clear water. Railay is one of Thailand's most sought after beach areas. Just south of Ao Nang Beach, accessible only by boat, Railay presents a private and extraordinary world. In just one small area you'll find beautiful white sandy beaches, limestone cliffs, scenic overlooks, caves and a lagoon inside the cliffs. At Railay there are no roads, only footpaths. No buses, no cars, just long-tail boats. The three main areas of Railay consist of West Railay, East Railay and Tonsai, with Tonsai catering more to climbers. The picture of tropical paradise, with no roads and no hassle, Railay offers lazy days, adventure forays and easy evenings. The Phra Nang peninsular is essentially cut off from the rest of Krabi by limestone cliffs and jungle valleys, the only access is by sea.
